Our annual gala, Fiesta, helps to raise much needed funds for the Austin Chapter. This year, we will need all your support as our group of volunteers has tripled in size! Meet this year's young group of outstanding volunteers on Thursday, May 1, 2008 for live music, food, drinks, the silent and live auction event and fun!

History

Amigos de las Américas is an international, nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that was founded in 1965 and has over 40 years of experience in facilitating community development programs.

Each year, AMIGOS trains and sends about 700 high school and college students from across the country to participate in service projects in Latin America. Volunteers spend five to eight weeks in a host country in the summer to work on various youth-to-youth community development and healthy community development programs.

Our Mission

To create partnerships in order to:
  • Empower young leaders;
  • Promotes community development; and
  • Strengthens multicultural understanding for the people of the Americas.
